Kanal D's upcoming Turkish drama “Susuz Yaz” has unveiled its first teaser, offering audiences a glimpse into a gripping story of forbidden desires, family conflict, and the struggle for water and land. Adapted from the celebrated work of Turkish author Necati Cumalı, the series brings a timeless tale to television with a new interpretation set against the harsh landscapes of Adana.
Produced by Ay Yapım, directed by Yusuf Pirhasan and Mehmet Can Bindal, and written by acclaimed screenwriter Sema Ergenekon, Susuz Yaz promises an emotionally charged narrative filled with passion, rivalry, and difficult choices.
Set in the village of Çarlak in 1970s Adana, the story follows two brothers, Osman (Mert Ramazan Demir) and Hasan (Batuhan Bozkurt Yüzgüleç), who make their living by cultivating their family's land. However, their relationship begins to unravel when Osman's passionate love for Bahar (Lizge Cömert) disrupts the delicate balance between them.
Determined to build a future with Bahar, Osman is willing to risk everything for love. Yet his older brother Hasan harbors hidden ambitions that threaten their relationship and the lives they have built. Meanwhile, growing disputes over access to water and ownership of land create tensions throughout the village, setting the stage for a series of devastating confrontations.
The first teaser captures the intense atmosphere of the series, highlighting the villagers' struggle over water rights. Osman's declaration, “I won't condemn anyone to a summer without water!”, contrasts with the villagers' passionate insistence that water belongs to everyone.

Another striking moment shows Osman bringing Bahar home on horseback, determined to begin a new life together. However, Hasan's mysterious expressions suggest that darker conflicts lie ahead. The teaser ends with an ominous warning: “This girl will be our downfall,” hinting at the dramatic consequences of the unfolding love story.
Combining a powerful literary foundation with an impressive creative team and a talented cast, “Susuz Yaz” explores the fragile boundaries between love, jealousy, power, and survival. With its atmospheric setting and emotionally complex characters, the series is shaping up to be a compelling addition to Turkish television.
“Susuz Yaz” is coming soon to Kanal D.
