INFORMATION ABOUT BİRKAN SOKULLU’S LIFE

He was born in Istanbul in 1985 as the child of a Bosnian immigrant family. As a child, he spent most of his time in the barbershop watching his father. Family has a very important place in Birkan Sokullu’s life as he grew up in a crowded family environment.

When he was little, he was a very calm, obedient, yet mischievous child. Birkan Sokullu, who lost his mother to a sudden cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 21, describes the difficult time he lived as follows; “I had a hard time understanding things for a while with my mother’s death, but in this situation, remembering my responsibility to my brother and father has made me a strong person.”

He was interested in basketball in school teams during his secondary and high school years. He took a break from basketball when he started college. He came third in the Best Model of Turkey competition in 2003. He studied at the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Maltepe University and also worked as a model during his years at the university.

Stating that he has a calm, shy, intellectual, humble, determined and hardworking personality, Birkan Sokullu says that his favorite feature is patience, and his least favorite feature is the quick decisions he takes in exciting moments.

He wants to create conditions where he can lead a fun and peaceful life free from tension as much as possible. He doesn’t like making plans too much. “As I got older, there was a serious change in my outlook on life. I see that many of the situations that I enjoyed in my 20s are no longer in my life. After all this experience, I think I know myself better, I know better the way I can be happy.”

He has no tolerance for disrespect. He thinks that he recovers in nature most easily when he feels bad. He finds dynamic, fun and strong women attractive. He loves meeting his friends and chatting over good food. He also likes to play Playstation tournaments at home, especially with his football-loving friends. When he wants to stay calm, he relieves his tiredness by reading a book and watching a movie.

Birkan Sokullu first started acting in 2008 by taking acting lessons from Dolunay Soysert when he received an offer from the TV series Elif. Then she attracted attention with the character “Ayaz” in the TV series Küçük Kadınlar (Little Women).

Birkan Sokullu, who married successful actress Aslı Enver in 2012, was married for three years. After the joint decision of the couple, the couple divorced in a single session in Küçükçekmece Family Court.

He overcame a very difficult role with the character of “Han Derenoğlu” in the series “Innocent Apartments” broadcast on TRT 1 between 2020-2022. The first feature film in 2019 was Umur Turagay’s Güzelliğin Portresi (Portrait of Beauty).

He reads, watches and observes a lot about his profession. Fame is not the center of his life. He says fame won’t last forever. That’s why he wants to do his job in the best way possible. Whenever he has time, he attends workshops given by actor coaches.

For a long time, he made various attempts to act in foreign films or TV series. At the end of the day, he wonders how far he can go with his profession and does not want to limit himself to Turkey.

He likes David Fincher movies in general. “The God Father” is one of his favorite cult movies. He prefers to watch detective and psychological thrillers. “The Game”, “Forest Gump” and “The Big Lebowski”, which he says I watch whenever I’m bored, are among his favorite movies.
