The novel Cadı (The Witch) written by Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar is being adapted to the cinema. Erman Bostan undertakes the script and director of the independent film supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The film takes place in the days of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Buse Meral and Furkan Andıç will share the lead roles in Cadı (The Witch), which will also be Erman Bostan’s first feature film.
In the film, which will begin shooting in Istanbul in the first week of September, Buse Meral will play the character of Fikriye who was widowed at a young age and Furkan Andıç will play the character of Naşit Nefi Efendi to whom Fikriye was forced into marriage. In the movie, “Dilara Duman” will play Naşit Nefi’s deceased wife, Binnaz. Contemporary Onur Öztürk will also play the roles of “Mesmer”, Elif Ürse “Gülendam”, Cengiz Orhonlu “Kenan”, Manolya Maya “Salime” and Süreyya Kilimci “İrfan Kahya” in the thriller movie.
