Netflix has completed its preparations to prevent more than one person from using an account by sharing free passwords. The system that Netflix has developed to prevent password sharing has become clear.

According to the news of The Streamable, the devices on which the account is opened will be blocked if the account holder does not connect to the modem at home once within 31 days. IP addresses, device IDs and account activity will be taken into account to understand whether the device is connected to the home location. With the system it plans to introduce at the end of March, Netflix aims to share passwords only within the same household. People who are traveling will be able to get a temporary password to access their accounts and use this password for 7 days in a row.

It remains unclear what impact the new system will have on people living in different places, such as long-term travelers or students studying outside the city. Netflix has previously announced that they are testing the extra account feature for a low fee. The feature was first tested on Chile, Costa Rica and Peru. In addition, the profile transfer feature has also been introduced in order to reduce the password shared accounts.
