The special screening of Uysallar, Netflix’s new series signed by Hakan Günday and Onur Saylak, was held at Atlas Cinema in cooperation with IKSV.
The leading actors of the series Songül Öden, Öner Erkan, Umut Yeşildağ, Nilay Yeral, İbrahim Selim, as well as the creators of the series Hakan Günday and Onur Saylak, its producer Kerem Çatay and Netflix’s content director Pelin Diştaş also attended the event.
Uysallar’s subject is set in the middle of urban transformation in 2020, in the uncharted streets of Istanbul, in plazas and residences that continue to rise. Oktay, the upper middle-class architect played by Öner Erkal, tells the story of questioning and awakening of his docile and extended family.
His Uysal family may seem like an ideal family, but they each have a double life that they hide from each other. You will meet the tragic, funny and dark side of family members unaware of each other, living the lives they dream of. Uysallar aims to make the audience question “when was the last time I was happy?” while offering an alternative family story to the audience in the unidentified city visuals of Istanbul in the background.
Uysallar series is set to premiere on Netlix starting March 30.
